The Folk Tree opened the popular 2008 Winter Warmer Series at the Colebrook Country Club on Jan. 30.

One of the popular events sponsored by the GNWCA is the annual TUBACHRISTMAS, which brings tuba, baritone and euphonium performers together from all over New England to Trinity United Methodist Church in Colebrook just before Christmas under the direction of Douglas Nelson.
Early in 2008 Franco-American performer Lucie Therrien of Portsmouth delighted a North Country audience with her concert in Canaan, Vt., sponsored by the GNWCA.
The International Music Arts Institute in Fryeburg, Maine, sent seven world-class string musicians to perform Chamber Music in July 2008 to Colebrook. The event was co-sponsored by the Great North Woods Center for the Arts, the Friends of the Tillotson Center and the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire.
Beginning in April 2008, the GNWCA launched a spring and fall Open Mic Series, encouraging local musicians to display their talents. The first one, shown here, was held at the Marion Blodgett Museum in Stratford Hollow, in cooperation with the Cohos Historical Society.

The annual Celtic Connections Winter Warmers Concert, held on March 12, played to a full house at the Colebrook Country Club and continues to be one of the most popular GNWCA attractions.
