3/9/09 - ANNUAL ELECTIONS

The Great North Woods Committee for the Arts, the area's longest established local arts organization, held its annual elections meeting on Monday, March 9, at the Williams Building in Colebrook.

Charlie Jordan of Clarksville was reelected to his second term as president. Bette Guerin of Colebrook was elected to the position of vice president. Bill Sambito of Colebrook was elected to the board. Other members of the board are Michele Johnsen and Rick Johnsen of Columbia, Linda Lipkin of Pittsburg and Larry Rappaport of Colebrook.

The GNWCA was founded as a result of a Coalition summit held in May 2003. It has hosted the popular Winter Warmers and Open Mic series, co-sponsored a Colebrook appearance last year of the International Music Arts Institute string chamber quartet, as well as appearances by Franco American performer Lucie Therrien, Vermont filmmaker Jay Craven, the annual tuba Christmas concert and more.
