The Great North Woods Committee for the Arts will be bringing these and more of the hits of the Eighties to the dance floor when it hosts its first Decade Dance Party at the Colebrook Country Club on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 8 p.m. One of the most popular groups from Nova Scotia’s musical corner of Cape Breton will be bringing a spirited and enthusiastic celebration of the holiday season to the Rialto Theatre in downtown Lancaster on Tuesday evening, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m.
The Great North Woods Committee for the Arts opens another season at the Rialto Theatre in Lancaster on Wednesday, Nov. 6, by bringing the Gaelic group Farsan to the North Country.
The Great North Woods Committee for the Arts will present Genticorum, a internationally acclaimed trio of performers from Quebec, in the Museum Theater at the Great North Woods Center for the Arts in Columbia. The performance will take place on Friday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. The show promises to be a “foot stomping” evening that will warm everyone up on a cool October night.
The Great North Woods Committee for the Arts welcomes the return of Americana-roots duo Dana and Susan Robinson from Cabot, Vt., on Saturday, Oct. 12. The couple will be performing in the museum theater room at the Great North Woods Center for the Arts in Columbia.
The first annual Great North Woods Arts and Crafts Fair will be held on Sunday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Great North Woods Center for the Arts in Columbia.
The fair will include many vendors selling their own creative crafts, including handwoven baskets, jewelry, lip balm, tie-dyed t-shirts, stained glass, turbo fluffed creations, handmade gifts, butcher blocks and cutting boards, beautiful ceramics and more. The award winning and highly acclaimed Francophone band Le Vent du Nord will be performing in Colebrook on Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Trinity United Methodist Church. The concert is hosted by the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts and will start at 7 p.m.
Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing In Concert At Great North Woods Center for the Arts On August 107/26/2019 Bob Amos & Catamount Crossing will be performing on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m., for what will be a night of top-flight bluegrass by one of the region’s favorites. Presented by the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts, this summer evening show will be held outdoors at the Great North Woods Center for the Arts on U.S. Rte. 3 in Columbia.
The Fretless, a Canadian string foursome, is returning to the North Country on Sunday, July 14, when the award-winning group will present a live concert at the Great North Woods Center for the Arts.
The Fretless performs traditional Celtic-infused folk music and this will be the band’s third return to the area, having first come north in 2015. The show will begin at 7 p.m. and will take place on an outdoor stage on the sprawling grounds.
