The new “GNWCA at the Country Club” concert series gets underway at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21, with a show by the duo Day Road. This new group features regional performers Hallie Day and Kyle Halley, who will serve up a concert of acoustic soul and Rhythm & Blues. Hallie, who lives in Pittsburg, has been wowing local audiences with her soulful interpretations of classic R&B songs, as well as original compositions. In 2012, Hallie appeared in Season 11 of the national TV program “American Idol.” She and Kyle have been performing together for a year and a half. Kyle, who lives in Stratford, lends his guitar accompaniment that captures the soulful and whimsical intonations of Hallie’s vocals. The music continues on at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 12, when the GNWCA brings to the Colebrook Country Club the new Weathervane Theatre’s Cabaret, featuring a quartet of professional performers who will serve up a night of Broadway Showtunes. |
From Scotland come the legendary duo of Alan Reid an Rob Van Sante at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21. “Alan is one of the founders of the Battlefield Band and his and Rob’s music tells the story of Scotland’s rich landscape and history. They are one of the acts we get the most requests for from our audience,” said Jordan.
At 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, Dana and Susan Robinson bring their show of Americana Folk music to Colebrook. The Robinsons, who have become one of the most in-demand musical coffeehouse couples now on the touring circuit, recently have moved to Vermont. “Their show last year was very well received locally and we are delighted to have them booked at the Country Club.”
The year wraps up with a Christmas concert at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, featuring the Fireside Fiddlers, a group of regional musicians who will add their old-timey touch to holiday classics.
