“We have brought to Colebrook over 275 performances over the past six years,” said Charlie Jordan, president of the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts based in Colebrook. “But we will definitely be paving new ground with our next concert which features the Harp Twins.”
The Harp Twins will be performing in one concert at the Tillotson Center in Colebrook, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 13. “You’ll want to get your tickets early for this one,” Jordan said. Advance tickets are for sale at Fiddleheads on Main Street in Colebrook, as well as at the door on the night of the show.
Identical twins Camille and Kennerly perform internationally as a dynamic acoustic and electric rock Harp Duo. As actors, The Kitt Twins have appeared in three feature films–two of which also feature the twins performing on their harps. Camille and Kennerly are easily the most followed and recognizable harpists in the world. They have a passion and flair for arranging and performing contemporary music for Harp Duet. The twins were trained classically but their true musical love and passion is playing rock, metal, alternative and crossover genres. The Harp Twins perform on identical statuesque acoustic Concert Grand Harps as well as identical modern ebony Electric Harps. Most recently, Camille and Kennerly teamed-up with Harpsicle/Rees Harps to show what can be done with smaller, affordable harps. The twins’ new metallic blue harps bring a new element to the breadth of their Duet Harp Revolution. Camille and Kennerly have created a unique niche for themselves: they play rock and metal music using only their two harps. Unlike other artists who cover contemporary music, the twins use no backtrack, studio, or production people. They are the archetype of true independent artists. Camille and Kennerly are recognized for their remarkable duet harp arrangements of songs by artists such as Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, Aerosmith, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Blue Oyster Cult, Scorpions, Eagles, The Police, Bon Jovi, Pink Floyd, U2, Journey, Evanescence, The Cranberries, Coldplay, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Deep Purple and many more. The twins also arrange and perform a jukebox of TV and movie soundtrack, Anime and video game hits.
Camille and Kennerly have performed for celebrities and political leaders. The Harp Twins were invited to represent the US at the 2014 World Harp Festival in Paraguay, were also asked to be cultural ambassadors for the United States during their trip to South America. The Harp Twins were featured musicians at the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration, playing for three events over two days, including a dinner where President Barack Obama was the speaker. Other notable duet harp performances include a luncheon where former First Lady Laura Bush was the featured speaker.
The Kitt twins made their Hollywood film debut as the Merry Christian Twins in the feature film “Politics of Love” as actors, soundtrack writers, and soundtrack performers (harp and vocal). Camille and Kennerly have been cast as principal roles in several commercials. They are both Third Degree Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do and are former Tae Kwon Do instructors. The twins are also “Distinguished Experts” in rifle marksmanship and are trained in horseback riding. They were competitive swimmers for many years as children. Camille and Kennerly graduated “Summa Cum Laude” (with highest honors) from the prestigious Conservatory of music at Wheaton College, both with a Bachelor of Music degree in Harp Performance. “You’ll definitely want to come to hear and meet these talented young women during their Colebrook appearance,” the GNWCA’s Jordan said.
Tickets are available at Fiddleheads, 110 Main St., Colebrook, or at the door. General admission prices for the night are: adults, $15; students, $12; children under 12, $5.
