This coming Monday, July 26, at 11 a.m., the Weathervane Theatre’s Patchwork Players are bringing their show, “Cinderella,” to the Great North Woods Center for the Arts in Columbia. Admission to the show is free. Plans are to host the show outdoors, but in case of rain, it will move inside the theater room on the (ground floor level). It is recommended that guests bring a chair or blanket, and perhaps an umbrella to protect from the sun. Cold beverages and small snacks will be available for sale.
“Cinderella” is the classic fairytale story of the young woman mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters, who, with the help of an eccentric fairy godmother, finds out dreams really do come true. This
show was adapted by Carmella Gates and directed by Grace Livingston Kramer.
Program funding for the Great North Woods Center for the Arts is supported in part by a grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts & the National Endowment for the Arts, which will continue to allow families to attend these professional performances by the Weathervane Theatre’s artists at no cost.
“We are excited to team up with the N.H. State Council on the Arts for the support of the three Patchwork Players shows the GNWCA is able to host this year.”
The GNWCA will be following all current best practices guidelines and safety protocols for COVID-19; hand sanitizer and extra masks will be available should they be needed at the time.
“Broadway Bound-Born to Entertain” was the first show--held on July 12 at the Center. “The Best of Patchwork 2021” will be the third show, and is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. It will feature all the favorite moments and songs from all Patchwork shows in one stellar production.
