UCVH also noted, “Please join us for an evening of great music while supporting your local hospital. Our fundraising is growing because supporters like you believe so strongly in our hospital, and are willing to step up to assist us with this important initiative. We are very grateful to all of those who have already contributed to this great cause and to those who continue their support.”
A familiar face in the Parker Hill Road Band is Pittsburg native Paul Amey, who today lives in Monroe and continues to share his talents on fiddle, mandolin and guitar in a number of regional groups. Parker Hill Road Band has become a local favorite, often performing during the annual North Country Moose Festival and the Dixville Half-Marathon. “This will be the first time the GNWCA has hosted the band and we are delighted to be able to bring them indoors for a winter concert in the warm and comfortable Colebrook Country Club,” said the GNWCA’s Jordan.
Parker Hill Road is a five-piece acoustic bluegrass band that has been performing professionally in the New England area for over two decades. The band’s repertoire ranges from traditional bluegrass to modern pop tunes performed in the bluegrass tradition. Four-part vocal harmonies, along with tight instrumental arrangements create a smooth sound that has been well received in a vast variety of venues.
The band consists of Tom Rappa with vocals and guitar, Tim Cate with vocals and mandolin, Mike "Woody" Woods on banjo, Paul Amey with vocals and fiddle and Chris Cate with vocals and bass.
The Parker Hill Road Band concert will help kick off the weekend’s Kiwanis Winter Carnival, which is headquartered at the Colebrook Country Club that weekend. “It’s going to be a great weekend all around,” noted Jordan.
Tickets are available at Fiddleheads, 110 Main St., Colebrook, or at the door. General admission prices for the night are $15. For more information on this and other GNWCA shows, find the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts on Facebook, visit www.gnwca.org or you can call 237-9302 or 246-8998.
