One of the top young traditional musical trios on the touring circuit today is returning to Colebrook to wrap up Labor Day weekend when Ten Strings and a Goat Skin appear at the Tillotson Center in Colebrook on Monday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m.
“When these young fellows from Prince Edward Island last appeared in Colebrook, they raised the roof with their high-energy take on Celtic and trad folk music, winning them high praise from our local audience,” said Charlie Jordan, President of the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts. “They have been among one of our most requested groups to bring back to the North Country.”
Rooted in the traditional styles, members of this award-winning trio celebrate the music of the Irish and Francophone cultures they share, infuse their original compositions and traditional standard tunes with modern and world rhythms and interpretations to create an infectious energy and unique sound that speaks to all ages. Building on a base of much loved traditional Maritime music with a good dose of originality, innovation and humor, the band grabs both French and English audience right from the first note. They easily connect with their listeners while they create an atmosphere that is pure fun.

Their name comes from the fact that they play stringed instruments and a Celtic drum (hence the “goatskin.”) They have just returned from an appearance in France, when they have earned a legion of more fans.
