The Weathervane has teamed up with the GNWCA to bring one of its final events of the summer 2016 season to the Colebrook Country Club on Monday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m.
The performers coming to Colebrook making up the 2016 Cabaret Company are five young professionals–four vocalists and music director. The group is comprised of Victoria Price, Xiaoquing Zhang, Matt Summers, Jay Frisby and Musical Director Brandon Sterling. They will delight the local audience with the music from the Great White Way and beyond. Their two 45-minute sets include “Roseland,” with tunes from the era of the great ballroom of the same name, as well as romp through standards from the 1950s and ’60s–and even a salute to the music of Disney films.
“Bring the family for a night of music everyone will enjoy,” Jordan said.
Tickets are available at Fiddleheads, 110 Main St., Colebrook, or at the door. General admission prices for the night are: adults, $15; students, $12; children under 12, $5. For more information on this and other GNWCA shows, find the Great North Woods Committee for the Arts on Facebook, visit www.gnwca.org or you can call 237-9302 or 246-8998.
Other shows in the current GNWCA at the Country Club series will follow in coming weeks. From Scotland come the legendary duo of Alan Reid and Rob Van Sante at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21. At 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, Dana and Susan Robinson bring their show of Americana Folk music to Colebrook. The year wraps up with a Christmas concert at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, by the Fireside Fiddlers, a group of regional musicians who will add their old-timey touch to holiday classics.
